Kickstarter is not the only project that we have been working on recently. At memoHQ, who we are and what we do is integral to the business, and we are very excited to announce that memobottle is now B-Corp™ certified.

What does that mean? Well:

What is a B-Corp™?

Certified B Corporations are leaders of a global movement of people using business as a force for good. They meet the highest standards of overall social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability and aspire to use the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. There are more than 2,000 Certified B Corporations in over 130 industries and 50 countries with 1 unifying goal – to redefine success in business.

Why did memobottle become a B-Corp™?

The B-Corp™ philosophy represents the business standard that the memobottle team values in our personal and professional lives, so becoming a B-Corp™ was a no-brainer. memobottle was founded to create positive change. Social and environmental impact, transparency of supply chain, workforce engagement and customer satisfaction have been key principles since memobottle was founded. B-Corp™ sets the standard for responsible business practice and encourages constant improvement, and we are proud to continually strive to improve our business in order to improve the world.

So, what are some of the practices that earned memobottle this Certification?

  1. 60%+ of our materials and products purchased are from suppliers that have third-party social or environmental certification, such as ISO 14000.
  2. 90%+ of our workforce are satisfied and engaged.
  3. Our company mission encompasses a commitment to both positive social and environmental outcomes.
  4. 100% of the company is owned by employees and founders.
  5. 75-99% of memobottles (inclusive of packaging) use recycled, renewable or other environmentally preferred materials.

Why should I care?

B-Corp™ certification provides accountability and a roadmap to become an even better company over the years. We care about our community, both near and far, and are focused on improving our social and environmental communities.

water.org partnership

From October 1st 2017 every memobottle sold will provide one person in need with clean drinking water for one month, through our long-running partnership with water.org. This is across both online and retail orders, so no matter where you buy your memobottle from, you can be sure that you’re doing good.

And, due to our Kickstarter campaign, we will be donating 1% of our takings to water.org, which will provide clean drinking water to over 1000 people in need. As always, thank you for all of your support.
